Best Bike Insurance

You will need to take out at least third party scooter insurance before you ride a motor scooter on the public highway, there are a number of factors to consider.

Many motor scooter riders are younger people, and obviously this has an effect on the price of insurance – generally speaking, the younger the rider the more expensive the insurance cover.

It can be tempting to simply take out the least expensive scooter insurance, but you need to think carefully about the implications of being involved in an accident and how different insurance cover might effect you.

Basically you have 3 options of motor scooter insurance:

Third Party motor scooter insurance is cheapest since you are only covered for injuries or damage you do to other people or their property should you be involved in an accident.
Fire and Theft covers your scooter in the event that it is damaged by fire or stolen, and also gives cover for third parties in these events.
Fully Comprehensive insurance is the most expensive option but insures your bike after an accident even if no other parties were involved.

It is of course entirely up to each individual as to which type of scooter insurance they feel is most appropriate, but in any case it is well worth shopping around for the best deal.

We have recommended a number of bike insurance & scooter  insurance companies on our Insurance Companies page, who offer a range of services ideal for younger riders.
